I started listening to your music while reading the Preston/Child Pendergast series, and I found it very evocative of some of the themes and characters. What are some of your favorite books?

That's wonderful. I've not read the Preston/Child books, but glad to know my music was the perfect score.

It's impossible to list "favorite" books, because it's always diverse and changing. I read a lot of odd dark history, medical, and science tomes. In fact, my song "Evil Night Together" was completely inspired by Luc Sante's "Low Life" (fantastic journey into NYC's late 1800's underbelly) and "Evidence," his collection of crime scene photos. (And I actually got an email from Luc Sante, telling me he loved "Evil Night Together!" I was honored.)

Medical history writer Jan Bondeson is a hero of mine. I think I have everything he has ever written.

As far as fiction that has left its mark in some way through my life? Here's the first 4 that come to mind: "Something Wicked This Way Comes"- Ray Bradbury, "The Jungle"- Upton Sinclair, "Perfume"- Patrick Suskind, "The Knife Thrower and other stories"- Steven Millhauser.
